Methodological Notice & Help

Principle: The calculation compares the maximum stresses (Moment and Shear) generated by a specific convoy crossing an isostatic span, against the load capacities defined by historical French construction regulations (1927 to 1971).

Hypotheses: The structure is considered as a simple beam on two supports. The calculation integrates dynamic magnification factors (impact) and transverse distribution according to the original regulatory requirements.

  • Foreign structures: You can use this tool for structures outside France by entering the span and comparing the resulting Moments ($M$) and Shear ($T$) with your own data.
  • Decay: This coefficient weights the resistant capacity (1.0: new condition, 0.5: degraded).
  • Convoy: Enter masses in kg. The spacing is the distance separating the current axle from the next one.
